Maxwell food centre

Went to Maxwell food centre on one of the days after work as we were really hungry! I think by the time we reached it was rather late? Plenty of stores were already closed by then. We surveyed the remaining stores and I decided to settle with something light.

Heard that this 'he ji bao' was quite famous and I vaguely remember seeing a couple of branches else where. I had the century egg with meat porridge ($3.50) which was nothing special. The porridge was bland however, the century egg was rather flavourful which kinda made up for the dish.

Ordered the passionfruit soursop juice (M-$2.50, L-$3.00) which was really refreshing!

My boyfriend had the Banana leaf fried kuey tiao and we ordered another Carrot cake to share. You get to choose if you want the $3, $4, or $5 option. Both was pretty good! There were always people queuing up for it even though it was already late at night. This was my first visit to Maxwell food centre and I've heard quite a couple of good reviews about this place. Will definitely pop by soon to try the other food! :)

Address: 1 Kadayanallur Street.
Take the train to Chinatown station and walk towards Ann Siang road. Maxwell food centre is just 2 streets down! You'll see a really huge temple on your right and that's when you know you've reach your destination.

Operating hours: Daily 8am to 10pm
